Fiona, the owner, is incredibly patient and nurturing with the children, making the studio a vibrant and welcoming space. How do you think the children benefitted from the Art Encounters programme?

“It gave them an alternative way of thinking and approaching art concepts in a fun and engaging way. It also exposed them to different artists and mediums and the art concepts that they used.”

Which lesson(s) is the most memorable for you and the children? Why?

“Spin Art, Metal Repousse, Clay Repousse. Despite the prep process and its messiness, it was enjoyable for the children. The process of creating their art pieces in stages also keeps them excited and anticipates the end product!”

What do you (as a teacher) or children enjoy/like most about the programme?

“It is something interesting and new for me and the children. They are always asking me when we will be having art lessons. As an old art student, I also enjoy exploring different art concepts and mediums for work.“

“Painting techniques: The children (and I) realised that painting is not difficult–in fact, it can be so much fun, especially when we used Eric Carle’s art as a reference. The children shared that they were teaching their parents their favourite painting techniques.”

My company engaged Art Curios for an Acrylic Pouring on Bear workshop carefully curated for 30 employees’ children.

Conducted in our office, Fiona of Art Curios did an incredible job from start to end and beyond. Not only did she consider the varying age groups of our children before carefully curating this workshop, but she was also very thorough with the entire planning leading up to the event. She was very patient during the workshop and clearly communicated with the children. She guided them through but allowed their creative juices to flow (pun intended). She also returned several times to check that the bears’ curing process was going well!

And I must mention that such workshops are typically conducted in their own art studio. BUT Fiona went above and beyond by making the workshop happen in our office. Kudos to her and Art Curios!

My girls attended Fiona’s session on Acrylic Pouring on 3D Bear Model Workshop at my company’s event in June 2023. They both had a lot of fun trying to mix the colours to their liking and creating a unique bear of their favourite colours. Fiona is a very good instructor, and her instructions were easy to understand and follow, even for younger children in the group. The materials she used are also very safe for children. I will definitely consider engaging her in other events.
